The School day runs from 9am to 4pm Monday to Friday.
The last half-hour of each afternoon (from 3.30 pm - 4.00 pm) is devoted to compulsory prep/homework study under the supervision of the class teacher for the older children (years 2-6) and for the younger children is a vital story telling and social time (years R and 1).
After School Activities
Meredale offers a varied programme of after school activities to enhance your child's learning experience and develop their talents further which are run by members of staff or external specialists. A range of clubs are held every term including Sport, Cooking, Craft, Science, Newspaper and Computing. The children are able to collect a stamp for every hour they spend in one of the clubs, counting towards their Bronze, Silver and Gold Level Awards at their Children's University Graduation Ceremony.
Children benefit from the opportunity to learn to play the recorder, as well as lessons in piano, violin and guitar being available.
Our location gives us easy access to museums, environmental centre and a wealth of other places of interest. We enhance each child's time with us through the use of regular visits out of the classroom. Recent visits have included Leeds Castle, Kent Life, Dover Museum, Canterbury Heritage Museum and The Central Theatre.
We take part in the locally run Medway Mini-Youth Games which covers a wide range of sports as well as entering other local competitions such as Maths and Writing. Every year there is the opportunity to be involved in school shows and events, including Harvest Festival, Remembrance Day, Nativities and Grandparents Tea.
Pupils can develop leadership skills by being elected as House Captains, School Captains or Monitors in Year 5 and 6.
Here at Meredale we offer a wrap-around service providing Breakfast, After School and Holiday Clubs to the children. The children are offered a nutritional meal at each of the clubs cooked onsite by our in house Chef's. There are various activities on offer at each of these clubs. For more information call the Club Manager, Lisa Ratcliffe on 01634 362221.

Each summer the school holds an Activity Week which is dedicated to building independence, trust, team spirit and a sense of belonging to the school family.
For years R-2 this involves a themed week in school with various day trips out.
For years 3-6 this involves a residential trip away where the children will get the opportunity to try out various activities for example kayaking, abseiling, grass sledging, bungee trampolining or archery.
Pictures below are of the children experiencing the annual residential trip for years 3 - 6 at Blackland Farm 2017.
